Diving from Stingray
We offer a regular schedule of diving around St Abbs and Eyemouth in the an area known as the Berwickshire Marine Reserve. We are based in St Abbs harbour which means many of the dive sites are only a 10-20 minute boat ride away.
Stingray is skippered by Danny Wright an experienced diver himself and commercial qualified skipper.
Stingray is a 10.5M Offshore 105 with large deck space with plenty of space for 12 divers. There is a dive lift for easy entry and exit from the water. We carry O2 and full medical kits.
We mainly stay out between dives and spend our surface interval drinking tea/coffee and watching the wildlife. This allows us to spend more time out at the dive sites and go to some of the further locations such as Fast Castle.
Types of Diving
The reserve is known for its clear waters and huge diversity of marine life included the Wolf fish which can only be seen in a few locations in the UK. The diving around St Abbs is suitable for all levels of divers with many of the scenic sites at depths around 15m down to 30m. The scenic dives are on rocky reefs and there are gullies and tunnels you can swim through. Some regularly dived sites are West Hurker, Skelly Hole, Tye’s Tunnel, Black Carr, Wuddy Rocks and Thrummie Carr.
Between May-August the cliffs are also covered in breeding seabirds and attracted to your bubbles you may well have a guillemot flash past you underwater.
