The crystal clear waters of St Abbs Head make for the most fantastic snorkelling adventure.
We offer two different types of snorkel experience depending on experience.
- For those more experienced snorkellers we run self-guided trips out of St Abbs harbour to snorkel the rugged coastline of St Abbs head, with our boat Stingray providing safety cover. The trips are approx 2 hours depending on the conditions. Price starts from £40pp. We have a schedule of trips planned but happy to work with you to add extra dates and bespoke trips for your groups.
- If you are new to snorkelling we offer small group guided snorkel session with a qualified snorkel instructor at the sheltered and sandy Coldingham Beach prices start at £60pp
Snorkel St Abbs Head - boat adventure
Self-Guided Snorkel
If you are ready for your next wild snorkel adventure then this is the trip for you. Your snorkelling experience will be for 2 hours. We will be out in deeper waters so this trip is for those that are water confident and have some previous snorkelling experience. However we can accommodate children from age 12 upwards. To ensure you have a great experience a BSAC Snorkel instructor will be onboard to provide a brief on site conditions and provide extra support. Although Snorkelling equipment is not provided in the cost of the ticket it can be hired from us upon request.
For these trips you will be snorkelling from Stingray which has a lift on the back for safe entry and exit of the water. To ensure your comfort there is a toilet and hot drinks and biscuits provided. We can carry 12 passengers and this means plenty of space for getting changed and warm after being in the water. Although the trip is 2 hours you will be able to do as little or as much time in the water as you are comfortable with.
Beginners Guided Snorkelling
Learn to Snorkel
These guided sessions are your opportunity to experience snorkelling in the shallow crystal clear waters of Coldingham Bay. To ensure your safety it will be led by one of our experienced BSAC snorkel instructors. They will guide you around the snorkel site, teach snorkelling skills as well as showing you the amazing underwater marine life. This trip is suitable for those who have no or limited snorkelling experience. We can accommodate children from age 8 upwards if accompanied by an adult.
This snorkelling experience will be approximately 2.5 - 3 hours to ensure you have plenty of time to get fitted for your kit, try out new skills and experience the waters of Coldingham Bay.
We don't want you to get cold, so all equipment you need to warmly snorkel is included in the cost of the ticket. Maximum group size will be 6. Prices start at £60 pp discounts for whole group bookings.
